Direct Marketing and Copy Consulting

By far the most common request I get as a marketing copywriter is

Can you look at my website and give me feedback?

The answer is yes. A thorough top-to-bottom site critique is usually the first step when I start writing for a new client. However, many business owners have told me they’d prefer to pay for my ideas and do the writing themselves. So I created the Conversion Audit Program.

So many great ideas, a Conversion Audit is like being handed a success blueprint formulated specifically for your business.

This is a full-service consultation. I scour your site and squeeze profit-building ideas out of every corner. I’ll uncover ways to improve what you’ve got and even let you in on some secrets I only share with my best clients.

  • I’ll make sure your copy is working hard to bring you new prospects and convert them into paying customers.
  • You’ll see how design elements can be used to build trust and encourage sales.
  • We’ll walk through a useability test to remove any roadblocks on the way to the checkout.
  • You’ll see why human emotion plays such an important role in sales (and how to use it on your site.)
  • I’ll show you psychological triggers you can use to ethically persuade your customers to buy.
  • We’ll stop up gaps in your sales funnel so your site stops leaking like a sieve.

And that’s just for starters. You never know what else I’ll find or what great ideas will pop into my head once we start working.

Here’s the best part, I’ll show you how you can test each and every one of my ideas (and all of yours too). So you’ll have scientific proof of what works in your market.

You’ll get the audit PLUS ideas and concrete steps to improve your marketing—online, offline, social and mobile. (So, you discover not just what’s wrong with your site, but also what to do about it.)

A Conversion Audit is so much more than a simple critique. You get a full phone consultation with me. Most clients like to record the conversation because they can’t take notes fast enough for all the ideas flying around. These typically last up to two hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to ask all the questions you can think of.

PLUS you get a free 30 minute follow-up call in case you have any lingering questions or want me to take a look at your new version. You must take advantage of this free call within 90 days of your initial consultation because I really want you to USE what you’ve learned and get it working. It’s a total waste of my time and your money if the ideas never get implemented.

So what does all this cost?

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn you can

Experience dramatically higher profits for just $750.

Here’s what one client has to say about her experience with direct marketing consulting

March 14th, 2009

My six months of one-on-one coaching with Julie Ann Eason have made a world of difference in my dance business.  Before working with Julie, dance was essentially a paying hobby.  I performed on a regular basis, I taught a weekly class, and I produced a well-regarded video podcast, but I was only barely profitable.  I wanted to make a real business out of it, but I was stuck in a starving artist mindset.  I believed that you couldn’t make a living as a dancer without living on ramen noodles, so I didn’t try very hard.

When I did try, my attitude stood in the way:

  • I was phone-shy, and didn’t pursue the work.
  • I knew marketing was important, but I didn’t know where to start, so I’d get overwhelmed and procrastinate.
  • Even though I had unique and valuable ideas to share, I didn’t feel worthy to participate in the instructional DVD market because I wasn’t already a nationally-known dancer.

Julie attacked these problems right away with marketing savvy, common sense, and discipline. Most business advice I had seen seemed like a collection of buzzwords, but Julie took a friendly, no-nonsense approach based on practical, logical action.  In our weekly phone call, she’d not only teach marketing concepts, but help me put them right to work.   And having to report on my progress each week kept me accountable, and helped me develop disciplined work habits.

She also helped me think like a marketer. I learned to:

  • Identify and focus on my niches,
  • Participate in the online community to establish myself as an expert and build a name for myself,
  • Use new media to build and maintain relationships with my colleagues and customer base,
  • Write sales letters, product pages, and video trailers that sell effectively.

Julie helped me seek out avenues for profit. She helped me:

  • Find ways to make money from my free video podcast,
  • Maintain multiple income streams (performing, teaching, instructional products), so even as one stream slows due to the economy or the time of year, the others keep rolling in.

I learned to work smarter (and harder) by:

  • Breaking the work into logical chunks, so it’s not so intimidating,
  • Identifying the sources of my mindset problems and taking real action to fix them,
  • Connecting me to other marketing education resources
  • Setting aside time for marketing work as religiously as for dance practice.

After six months of coaching, and four months on my own, the difference is incredible:

  • My net profit is over four times what it was this time last year, despite a hip injury that prevented me from performing for six months of that time!
  • Because my dance business is now netting over 25% of my salary at my IT day job, my dream of going part time someday is not only possible, but also likely.  I never thought that I’d be able to quit my day job, but as I continue to develop my business and my product line, it’s a very real possibility.
  • I’m widely acknowledged as an expert in my niche.
  • My mailing list has over 150 members, with a 99% retention rate.
  • I’m still tempted to procrastinate, but I just pretend that Julie is expecting a progress report in our weekly coaching call.
  • Most importantly I’ve developed a marketing and business mindset.  I know where to begin, what needs to get done, and how to move forward on my own. When I get stuck, I just ask myself “What Would Julie Do?
